This Chakana (Andean Cross) contains the sun and the rainbow inside.

Chakana is a very ancient sacred sign of the Inka. In the Quechua language it means ‘ladder’, it is also known as the Andean cross.

The Chakana cross (or Inca Cross) represents our connection with heaven and earth. The four main arms of the Chakana represent the 4 directions of a compass, the 4 elements (earth, water, air and fire), but also the four seasons. The Chakana also represents the Southern Cross. The hole in the center of the cross is the Axis through which the shaman transits the cosmic vault to the other levels. It is also said to represent Cusco, the center of the Inca empire and the Southern Cross, one of the most characteristic constellations in the southern sky.
