Beautiful Chullo Hat of the Q’ero Ceremony
This is a chullo hat, hand woven and decorated with beads in the Andean Community of Q’eros in the province of Paucartambo. Q’eros communities still decorate their clothes with beads. This originated in the 17th century after the Incas were conquered by the Spaniards they practically became slaves and worked in the fields for the Spaniards called ascendants and as compensation they received products and one of them was beads, at that time they did not know what to do with them and started to sew them on their clothes. At this time many of the Andean communities continue with this tradition and decorate their clothes with beads and buttons. The Andean Q’eros paq’os wear this Chullo hat during ceremonies; Pago a la Paccha Mama, Despachos and others.
