Wool ribbons for hats. They are traditionally hand-knitted, using 100% natural and organic local sheep and alpaca wool, and dyed with natural plants.
Peruvian Andean headbands are the perfect complement to your hat and give it a beautiful and traditional look.
During ceremonies and festivals in the Peruvian Andes, hats are decorated with watanas (ribbons).
This beautiful headband or hatband was hand-knitted in the locality of Ccatca, community of the Q’ero Nation. The weavers of the Q’ero Nation share their time in the making of these headbands for ceremonial or everyday use.
Each design is meaningful and symbolic (the hummingbird, the butterfly, the condor, the sun, and the earth) for Andean culture. They tell a story and represent life on Earth, carrying medicine.
Dimensions: 33 inches long (including tassels) x 1.75 inches wide
